This is the last pick-up for the spring season. Share pickup will be at the Brookhaven Farmers Market down on Dresden tomorrow sorry for the late notice.

We still have openings for the summer so please come on board you will miss a treat if you don't.
Don't forget to bring your bags this week you will need to leave them this week for our summer CSA. I will give you a Brown Bag or you can bring your own.

Phoenix Gardens & Wing and A Prayer are busy places these days. We start the day feeding the chickens and watering the gardens and the fields. The fields are checked out and the tasks for the day are on. We have been steady planting but this week because the weather has been hi 80’s it has been tough we hope it will stabilize soon. Tojuan & Brennan are also putting in irrigation up at WP on the weekends cause hand watering is not an option up there. We are working on a irrigation source for PG as well.

Our apologies for the Red Choi a couple week’s ago it was not in the greatest of shape but I did the best I could to get the bugs out. And this week the cabbage may have a few slugs in them but again we don't spray with and pesticides so please understand. When mulching so the weeds don't come through the slugs love the moist soil so we are learning as we go.

We harvested chickens again last week and they are available for purchase please inquire for purchase.

Work Opportunities at Phoenix Gardens

There is always something to do at Phoenix Gardens and as we grow, we need help to get our work done. We are always looking for energetic folks looking to roll up their sleeves and get involved in the local food movement. Most of our work opportunities are barter for food. For the work we need, we negotiate a hourly rate. Payment is made with credits that can be used to purchase local food products. In some cases, there are positions that we will compensate with good old Americam cash.

Some of our positions are on-going. Some are on an as-needed basis. In addition to getting some great local food, you can learn a lot about our growing practices and the local agriculture movement.

Take a look at some of the opportunities below and contact us if you are interested. Any opportunity with a $$$ symbol has a cash payment as part of the compensation.

This is the engine of our work program at Phoenix Gardens. In lieu of payment for a share in our CSA program, participants agree to work about 3 hours per week at our farms. Opportunities will be available for all CSA seasons and for both our Lawrenceville and Jefferson locations. Because this program is so critical to meeting our labor needs, an application and short interview will be required. We are especially in need of people who can work weekeday mornings.

We are still finalizing the details for the program. You can click the link below to email a request for an application. Please indicate what position you are applying for in the subject line.
